with respect to swell from Gabrielle..

Over the past week, when no swell had been produced for your area (new jersey), then forecasts are based off of model guidance. Since, models struggle with systems like Gabrielle, that is why you see changing forecasts for each forecast update.

Swellinfo updates its forecasts twice a day, and are based on the latest GFS model forecasted winds.

I"m not sure where you live in New Jersey, but it looks like its going to be bigger in South Jersey.

For South Jersey, small to moderate SE swells should pick up through the day on Sunday, whereas Central Jersey spots may have to wait until late in the day to see anything on the rise.

Why do all of these idiots expect any surf report to be so ontime when the weather, especially coastal and marine weather is so unpredictable?

QUIT CRYING POSERS!!!

Amen, Chong!

I've seen a whole lot of whining lately! Keep up the great work, Micah?. Your site has become one of my favorite report/forecasting sites and I check it quite often. The whining comes from the clueless ones..

Well, for one thing we're talking about the weather, and for all of our models (models mind you) it's always got a mind of its own, and that's subject to change. As for "I am not a poser!" methinks you doth protest too much, and Larry Craig is not, and never has been gay, not that there's anything wrong with that. Education will set you free.

If you've put your time in the water and watched how storms have passed historically. You won't need to check so many reports. Just keep an eye on the wind and hope the usual 1-2hr swell window we usually get doesn't show up from 8pm-6am like it usually does.
