why don't you get a local shaper to make you a board?

I have a single fin from Brian Wynn. It is probably my favorite board and it is not from a huge shaper or using super new technology. I'd ride it over my tuflite Al Merrick Flyer anyday:
Checkout his site (http://www.wynnsurfboards.com/)
He has an awesome variety of retro and hi-performance boards.

I will second the Brian Wynn suggestion. He shaped me a quad around christmas time and it is my favorite board without question. He is working on something new for me that should be ready by the end of the month. Something short and thick for the summer waves. Support your local shaper.

i don't know about getting a local shaper to shape me one, because three of my buddies got an custom whisnant and something happened to each of them in the first three weeks that wasn't their fault, and i have one that i got three years ago from a local shaper in New Jersey and just wasn't even. i also tried a wynn before and they were ok, but the board didn't fit me well. Should i even ask about firewires?

After much research, I had Cosmic Bull make mine...and I'm very happy with it :D

super surfboards are shaped by Mike Walters personally (UM). They are a division of UM surfboards. Dion, Clay and Kolohe are the first to ride them. the boards are sick and UM is about the nicest guy in the entire world. i stayed at his house for a week with luke ditella and tom curren a couple months ago and his family are great people. i would buy a super or a UM. liquid surf shop carries UM now. I rode one of Mike's x-fish designs in oceanside when i was there and loved it. cant go wrong with UM

UM might have one of the nicest board sites I've seen:
Check it out... (http://www.umdesigns.com/)

A third recommendation for Brian Wynn. He shaped a quad fish for me and the board is sick. I told him exactly what I wanted the board to do for me and the boards performance is on point. The glass job is outstanding as well. He is also a great guy to work with. Very helpful, willing to listen to your needs, and work on making the board right for you. Just an FYI, he glasses for Cosmic Bull, Heritage and Chaize. I would put his shaping abilities up against any other EC shaper and his glassing skills are on par with the best out west. Attached some pics of my fish below. I plan to eventually order a single fin and quad shortboard from him as well.

yeah just buy the super board. You sound like the person who buys the trendy board anyway... People like you just leave more variety for the local surf shop quivers.....thanks!
