Swellinfo Shirts?

I have a suggestion...you know how Swellinfo has free advertising...why doesn't someone make some shirts for Swellinfo. Like have a contest where we can make designs and stuff and choose the best one to put on a shirt. Then sell them, hand em out to the users, w/e to spread popularity and promote this site. Thought it was a creative and fun way to spread popularity.

I've been wanting to do T-Shirts for a while now, just haven't made the time to get it done. But, I absolutely want to!

I really like the idea of setting up a contest and allowing users to design a shirt. I want to plan to set this up in the near future. My one idea that I really like, is having a design surrounding the "GREEN MAN". Having a green man t-shirt! In its simplest form, having just the single green man and a wave on the front and the Swellinfo logo on the back.

I actually had someone do some designs a while back that I haven't done anything with yet.

Kinda digging it but what happened to the sponger? It's just surfboards...and shouldn't the motto be "It's all about the swell"? Let's get some more designs and see what comes up/happens! :D

i'm not that stoked on those designs, just wanted to get some opinions. I'll put this on the to-do list to get an official contest going sometime soon.

I would buy a Swellinfo shirt. But you should add in bodyboarding to the shirt. Out of the two designs you showed, i like the top one.

a poll would be cool, but judging by the arguments on this forum, no one will agree on a shirt if it was just bodyboards or just surf boards, the best bet would be an option between the two, or neither lol. i kno those images are just to get the ideas flowing but i like the second one the most, i think its cool. esp the green guy. maybe even a clean green wave would be cool too - just like on the forecasts!

I like the second one, pretty simple. The green guy is cool too. You would definitely have to have either 2 shirts, one for surfers and one for spongers or a shirt with neither which would be lame.

I'm sure they wouldn't be more than any regular tshirt. As for the shirt itself. Like the one you have with surfboards, just create two designs, one with a surfboard, one with a bodyboard... or just leave either out. A picture of a nice wave would go well too...

Whoever suggested stickers is a good way for promo. Slap those bad boys everywhere.

Depends on what method of printing swell decides to go with.

Screen printing -- cheap, will fade and crack in future.

Sublimation -- a little more $ but by far a way better quality. Won't fade very much. Will never crack or peel since it's fused with the material.

Sublimation is the way to go. IMO

btw -- I think the second graphic is dope without any boards

well, since you brought it up, i'll let you know that we are working with a local surf shop to offer an online surf shop right on swellinfo. It should be online within the next month. We dont have the Swellinfo gear in there yet, but we'll get it there! We hope everyone decides to do their online surf gear/accessory shopping here and help support the cause!

Got another idea. Board bags (bodyboarding) with the swellinfo logo on it. Kcoast did that. It would be sweet and alot of people would see it. :cool:

The problem with doing BB & surfboard bags is

1. expense
2. other bag manufacturers who specialize & have been with the shop or industry for a while make it hard to compete. + the shop would more than likely push there own bags.

Shirts, sweatshirts & hats are a pretty safe option for Micah & the shop. They don't have to dedicate a lot of floor space to too many items. The shop is nice, but still has limited amount of space for all the items to sell.

Micah, I would even pass on the different BB & surfboard logo's & go with the current logo or if you have an updated, different logo in mind-at least to start off anyway. Your brand is what you want out there & BBERS & Surfers would be willing to support someone who is giving back to us.
