hey guys its been a big look at wb the past few days and the town of wb is getting fed up with surfers surfing right next to the peir and when town officials have tried calling the surfers out they wouldnt comein. and now they are going to give out citations and violations for surfing next to the peir and its also making all the other surfers look bad for something really stupid. also we all should be thankfull that we can still surf anywhere on red flag days so dont mess everything up for all the other surfers.

Yeah, I got one of those %#$@ hooks stuck in my foot last month. I wasn't that close to the pier, the fishing line had been cut or broken.

Why do you even attempt to use punctuation? I really think that if I just whacked the keyboard with my elbow it would be more correct than that. Does that first sentence make sense to anyone?

As much as I think that a blind, dyslexic, 3 year old could put together better sentences than wbsurfer, I think that this thread actually has a decent message, regardless of the fact that the title post requires quite a few reads to actually gain any meaning from. However, not many surfers in southeast Carolina surf without first seeing Butler's report, and the few that don't probably don't even posess a computer(therefore they won't be seeing this), so this probably isn't news to anyone at all. But, even though it may be slightly redundant, and incomprehensible, it has a good point, no matter that everyone has probably heard it before. So it should probably stay....and calm down Conway, it pains me just as much as you to read those nonsensical garbled fragments, but the kid is just trying to raise a decent (although throughly heard) point. Besides, it looks like there might be a little wave tomorrow.

yeah man i hate it when random people look at me when walking out on the beach thinking that surfers dont have a life or just that we think we break all the rules out there when trully most of us follow alot of the laws, which just gets me made since most of my friends and there parents that surf follow all the rules same with all the other surfers and it has to be just a few people to get the town of WB to get mad at us.

The 'surfing next to the pier" topic has been beat to death on wblive and ecs, but wbsurfer is still right. Right now, the climate in WB is pretty favorable for surfers. There are no surf zones, you can surf where ever you want on red flag days, and the cops/life guards are usually pretty chill. Do you want to ruin all that by surfing next to the pier? Its not like its the only break on the island...

Bottom line- It sucks that you cant surfer where ever you want but, for the most part, you you have it good. Dont mess it up for everyone. Take a look at the alternatives-

bogue pier- the cops practically stake it out and hand out tickets like party mints (i know, ive gotten one).

OC,MD or VB- They have a few one block surf zones all summer. Imagine packing all the surfers on WB, local rippers, hot shot groms, long boarders, and kook turists on softtops, into a few zones with less then 100yds of beach. Sound like fun? i think not.

on topic, I think everyone should be smart enough to get away from the peir when the ocean rescue people pull up in their little ****mobile and jet skis and what not. don't provoke them, just paddle north and when they leave drift back. key word here is common sense. USE IT.

yeah back wen we had those I didn't surf I sat at home and played my xbox on tony hawk proskater lol I was a skater boi then I found Kelly slaters game and I fell in the love with Kelly and surfing and I bought a surf board and I took him out and I got a barrel at crystal and it was fall in love ever since and now i only play xbox when thd wave is flat.

adowett- I live near AB and only surf WB when i go down there to visit my girlfriend, which isnt all that often. I knew that the surf rules had improved a lot in the past few years, but I didnt know that only 2 years ago they had surf zones. I can only imagine how much that must have sucked.
