Just got out from a quick session... went out at noon, offshore, big, barreling, perfection. :D seems to be cleaning up by the minute, still a good bit of sideshore, but nothing to hard to handle, and worth everyone you take on the head. Hope it holds up for saturday! Go get um.

The waves werent even that good. I mean if u enjoy paddling more than u actually enjoy surfing than its perfection. I'm ready for the East Coast to even try to have something on the West coast. Can't even hold 8 ft without pitching all over the place

Except for the fact that OC was a big frothfest with a paddle that wasn't worth it. Waves that big only belong on the West Coast where it can hold um

this particular system delt a lot of current with it... however, there def. are days when it gets big and manageable on the open beach breaks. When the swell direction is a very steep direction (form the S or N for east facers), then thats when you get the most current.
The west coast primarily encounters swells with systems well offshore that deal long period swells and dont create the nearshore current.

Yeah and its amazing. i was lucky enough to goto San Luis Obispo for college and i experienced what real waves are. But i have to say OC is def one of the best waves ive surfed

Big and good, perfect for a boogie with a paddle out where your hood stayed dry. Most boogies that checked OC turned around and headed north...today was a good day.

I don't know if it was specifically where I was or what but they seemed as good as they get around here, definately not the cleanest but nice and open and peeling. I am a sponger so my fins could have helped me out there cause I honestly didn't think the current was drastically bad. Good or bad I hope everyone had fun, because I did.

Yeah i went out in OC first then up north in South DE. It just seemed to be unorganized and not worth the paddle.

Yeah i went out in OC first then up north in South DE. It just seemed to be unorganized and not worth the paddle. Yeah...OC was way drifty and disorganized friday afternoon...definately not worth the paddle/drillings. Plenty of better waves to be had up north with some jetties to set up the waves.
