Dec 9, 2008, 01:35 AM
probably afternoon thursday. hopefully wind wont blow it down. if the swell doesnt have enough size to it a west wind of 25 kt might keep it from pitchin. if ya got a funboard or longboard you might want to take em. hint...there are some very cool low tide bars around PI. cant be specific bc dont want to piss anyone off but theres more to pi than pi...think about it...and I aint talkin about the south end

It certainly is nothing to write home about, everytime I check out pi on a ese , se our south moderate period swell, more or less a trade swell, heading up north is the call almost everytime. Pi blows unless you are a 3ft grom or longboarding. It will have its moments on some large expected swells that will last very briefly, something like this will give it all of 30 mins of maybe some descent waves to push through. Plan elsewhere.

and that is the cold hard truth!!! It is the most fickle surf spot I have ever known. I love PI but wish we pulled more waves for sure. but I guess thats why we are so appreciative when we actually get to surf a decent wave. In PI...when there is waves...everybody is so stoked that there just is not alot of hassling or aggression. yeah there are exceptions but most everyone is cool. it funny cuz when you go to places that pull waves all the time there are so many d!cks in the water. I think I have been pissed off(at people)maybe a handful of times in the 20 years Ive surf PI.....most of the time its bc of parents who(again) send toddlers into the water to try to swim against a rough current....I will never figure that out I guess.......but yes, the surf in PI could be better!!!

Thats right...Pawleys blows, "Unless you're a 3 ft grom or longboarding" so don't come here, matter of fact, dont even worry about checking it. Plus I heard the water is dirty, and they have huge jellyfish all the time...and sharks. Locals can be real d!cks too. Stay in Myrtle where it's always good!

btw... i really did see a pretty big shark (bull i think?) out in the south inlet last week. i saw it outside the first time and then after catching my first wave i saw it again inside of me. needless to saw that session ended pretty quick!

damn it all to hell with sour ass people...heres an idea lets all DONT be friends here or in the water so we can end up like california....I thought people were cool in the south but I guess not. PI is a BIG secret that we dont want to share but how many PI locals travel to different spots in US or outside country for surf? News flash....we aint locals there. I got no problem with anyone who comes to OUR beach as long as they use common sence and are respectfull like WE should be when we go out of town. Sh!t people....is this how surfers really are? the people I hang out with are not. Lets all have a place to talk....where we dont talk.....had enough of this BS....yall have fun...... or not

smith...on my way(thanks for the offer)...no actually bc Im finding out how lovely people/surfers are around HERE im moving to the country where there are NO people....guess ill just give up surfin and build a big concrete pool for skating.....by myself(or maybe a cow or two)...this was my final attempt on this site to talk some story and it turned out to be a joke. I know there must be some decent people/surfers out there so God bless ya....i'm out. ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hey "Cricha" I am pretty sure that my post was oozing with sarcasm...the whole grand strand sucks for waves ( I grew up surfing here). I was satirizing our way-too-serious outlook on the differences between one spot to the other here on the flat strand. We all have our favorite spot...sh!t I live on 13th ave. south in Surfside and have for close to 10 years now. I manage Surf the Earth in PI and have been surfing here for close to 15 years as well...Im all about sharing the stoke and sharing my waves. But, if you want to talk crap about PI, like some in this little world-wide web community, then don't come here, stay where you like to surf. I don't talk crap about 64th ave. north in MB just because I think its overcrowded for no reason. Don't take yourselves too serious, or this forum
We all probably know each other in "real life" anyway. Cricha stop by the shop and say whats up, I am positive we not only know each other, but have shared waves before.

yeah I know you panic...sorry for unloading but just feel like life can be rough enough w/o everyone blisteren each other on this site. I dont have much time in real life to discuss surfing topics and wanted to try here. I think I'll just stick to real life from now on. Anyway most of my aggression stemmed from a private message I got about discussing the secrets of PI.....sorry, I did not realize that there were any. Besides if someone is out there searching for waves and cruises onto the island then it would be pretty hard to hide where the surf is considering our parking situation. again, sorry to all. I will continue to spread the good nature of surfing the best I can.....just not here. Panic, I know that a large surf community is in your best interest and everyone at STE really teaches a positive message about all water activites and the lifestyle. Have a good day and I'll see ya soon.

Yo panicsurf, hope you boys are doing well down there. Might need to role down there and see if I can put up that new webber I got a little while back on consignment. Not sure if you've seen that one, only rode it like one day..Its a sick shape, I just need a little more volume on it to carry 180lbs. Might have to cash in on those velcro secret pocket reef slippers you showed me a while back. Thatd be sweet if you guys carried some of these for those dry periods. The kids would have a hay day with this out there: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57u2WRg5QAo&feature=related

right on. hahaha, that is true bout the parents and some of their kids. I have seen some little kids out there struggggglin on some of those super windy summer afternoons. I notice a bit of them watch them on land like a hawk, once in the water the assumption of undertow and rips are not taken into account.

i just got in and it was fun nice little waist-chest high barrels. i got barreled like 20 times. i lost count after 15 but my friend counted like 20-25. but it was defiently worth it.:D

i dont think it was throwing hard enough for you to get 20 barrels, but great fun waves nonetheless and because of this i have no **** to talk, for tonight at least
hope everyone got a few
