Seeing as I just got laid off last week and don't have to work, I was thinking about braving the blizzard and getting some surfing in. Prob. heading to Long Beach but have never surfed there before (usually surf in Jerz..mostly Manasquan). Anyone else hittin up Long Beach?

Yea, a few friends and I are going out down around Cape May/Wildwood tomorrow since schools closed. Should be fun hopefully the waves stick around from today since there were a few fun ones.

no point in going to cape may, since the winds are going to be shifting NW on Monday. South jersey spots should be doing pretty good.

So considering the winds are going to be coming in from the North tomorrow, is nobody hitting up the southern facing beaches on LI (Long Beach/Rockaway) to catch the off-shore breezes/gale force winds? I would think most of jersey with its east facing beaches are going to be getting a ton of chop and closeouts.
I plan on taking the train out to long beach, getting there around 11, and seeing if I can find a break right around there if anyone wants to join. Its going to be fun trudging through a foot of snow in my 5-4. At least my booties are 7mm.
Any recomendations on a long board vs. my 6 ft. fish for tomorrow's conditions? I am leaning towards the long board.
