central costa rica

has anybody been to central costa rica this time of year? i fly into san jose on wednesday and am trying to decide if i want to go up on the nicoya peninsula for the offshores or try my luck with the central coast. looks like head high for the most part while i am there. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hermosa would be a good bet. Tulin gets pretty heavy with a steep top to bottom wave. escondida is a good break too.
