Nice place to go bodyboarding in mid-atlantic east coast

Hey everybody,

Would like to go bodyboarding in May through September in the mid-atlantic area(NJ,NY,NC).
I'll be driving from Ohio so wanted to look for somewhere relatively close(~ 8-9 hrs driving). Appreciate input in regards to hotels if anybody knows.

What are the good spots which will certainly be worth the trip?

What is the ideal wetsuit for the current weather(~50 F)?

you can get away with a 3/2 for sure now...obx is your best option for good surf in the mid-atlantic region at this time there's a cheap motel in kill devil hills called the ocean house motel and its got some nice breaks out back and your also within an hour or less drive of all the major breaks down south of the oregon inlet...the guy who runs the place is named john..real chill guy and gives you good rates look it up

Outer Banks, North Carolina. That is your most consistent option.

obx is great to stay cheap, theres alot of places in jersey but not really anywhere to stay close that isnt really expensive
