Just spent $1,300 for a month traveling all over Costa and staying in Panama for 2 and a half weeks.

anywhere. Just about everywhere in Central America has waves. There are some major differences between countries - If you haven't taken a trip before, then start off by going to costa rica. Costa Rica is almost like a rite of passage for the east coast surfer. It is a fairly easy, safe trip.

April to September is the most consistent for the central america pacific side with consistent south swells, while winter time is best for the caribbean side.

agreed i would start your central america trip with CR. its safe and very user friendly, lots of gringos and all. and yes CR west coastis bigger in the fall..hurricane swells and all. you need a any help getting to CR say the word. check us out at www.surfcosta.com or myspace/facebook. if you organize a big enough group you can stay at a huge discount..
