Has anyone seen 'Surfer Dude' ? I watched parts of it last night and Im not sure how I feel about it. Other then portraying surfers as pot smoking hippies I wanna see what people think.

didn't see the movie but from what i've heard and read about him (as a surfer) he seems like a major kook.

he may have been paddeling and sitting in the lineup (or to the side....) but it was very obvious that he wasn't surfing.

...at the top of thread some said that they (Surfer Dude Creators) portray surfers in a negative fashion. Then you have this quote that confirmes the stereo types in this movie? Not to be hard on you buddy, but a lot of surfers don't have the burn out-drunk image because they don't act/speak that way or you just never know they surf to begin with. Another note, Matthew McConaughey and Lance Armstrong surf reguarly together on trips to different places. I don't think they rip or even claim it, but I have seen video of them surfing at the Kelly Slater Hollwood project in Indo. Hollywood people team up with pro surfers and have a comp. Oh, the movie was far from good!

It one of those movies you laugh "at" not "with". The plot and story and acting all pretty much suck, but it's just so dumb it's actually funny. Don't get me wrong, it's a really bad movie, but that's what kinda makes it funny.

I vaguely remember Surfline being in the movie at one point during that whole waiting for waves part.

he actually does surf. he longboards and stuff. never claims to rip.

the only celeb tht pissed meoff was the brokeback mountain guy. jake gillenhall or whatever. he was on th cover of a huge celeb magazine. h was at malibu getting pushed into a wave on a foam top longbord. he had ****ing indo reef booties on in july at maibu. thetitle was saying that he is joesurfer.

The movie was pretty much a joke...and I wish they used some other sport to make false conotations about.
Boobies were nice.;)
