View Full Version : Mother's Day Whale Sighting

Hey Guys,

I was chilling off of a jetty in Avon, when I spotted a whale a few hundred yards from the beach. Did anyone else see this thing?

Below I've attached a photo of the whale.

i saw a whale off of normandy beach this saturday, heading north.

This guy was headed north as well,probably the same one.

last month, a gigantic whale made its way out of the pacific and into the san diego bay. the whale stayed there for 30 days. he was coming right up to the docks and showing off for the crowds almost daily. he was in like 20 feet of water right off shore. it was cool. the whale stayed for a long time.

a couple of my wacked out hippy surfer friends live on boats down on the bay. they were waiting for the whale to get close to their boats and they were going to dive in and try and swim with it.

I told them that was the stupidest thing I've ever heard and that not only the whale might not be friendly to them, but going under water around something that large and fast could created a wild suckin affect and pull you under water. lucky for the whale and for them he stayed on the seaport village side.

really amazing creatures. but if one rolls by me out there, I will b line right back to the shore. those boys r way too big for me. beautiful though

Wow that is so cool. I've never seen a whale and hope to maybe this weekend. Are they migrating north this time of year? Thanks for the pic. Made my day.:)

there were plenty of 'whales' on the beach on saturday. the kind that need jenny craig not greenpeace.

All jokes aside I was in the water for most of Mothers Day. What time did you spot this beast?
