Boris w/ Torche last summer or Earthless a few months ago, can't decide. Both shows were really tight and had my brain melting out of my ears into a pile of slop on the floor.

Anushka Shankar.
I've seen ALOT of musicians, and none even come close to the performance she put on.

Im only 18 so i havent seen like every band but hands down one of the best bands to see live is pepper. ive seen them live 3 times this year and this past show at rams head was absolutly incedible. they did jams and sh*t live ive never heard before and covered random ass songs like nirvana and kicked ass on them. linkin park was the first band i ever saw live when i was 12 and that was pretty f*ckin sick. neil young has to be up there i saw him like 2 years ago and it was really good. the foo fighters are absolutley incredible live too. dave grohl is frickin hilarious. state radio is really good live. i was absolutely shocked at donavon frakenreiter's performance when i saw him. i didnt think hed be that good but he was amazing especially for a 3 man band. slightly stoopid is solid but not amazing

Jane's Addiction at the first Lollapalooza, then again at Merriweather on June 9, 2009. Both shows were incredible, but I'm feeling plenty jealous of Mitchell of Mitchell's 1988 Chili Peppers OCMD show....I only saw them with a substitute guitarist and then again with Dave Navarro.

I think it has to be when i save dave matthews band.....
the roots and santana opened for him. an amazing show.
about the chili peppers in ocean city...i live here, but not at that point. i believe that they played the bottle and cork in dewey beach, and then i think they played at secrets in ocean city. i think they were both private shows.....i could be wrong

Seen and heard some good ones over the years: Jethro Tull at the LA Forum in Fall of '70; the Grateful Dead in St. Louis at an old theater - free back door admission after bumping into Garcia at the St. Louis airport; Springsteen at the former Theater in the Round near Owing Mills in Spring '75 (opening act was Buzzy Linhart!); U2 at RFK about 10 yrs ago; Ten Years After at Merriweather Post in early 70s; Tower of Power in DC; Carlos Santana in the DC Armory in early 70s. Pepper and Slightly Stoopid in recent years.

best phish show i saw was 12.13.99 philly. opened with a 15 minute harry hood, then mikes-hydrogen-simple-weekapaug just to name a few......was also my first of many phish shows. i had plenty of friends in florida for big cypress and from what they said, it took over 24 hours just to get into the venue....

Bad Brains at the Rage in Baltimore in 1990? I was like 15 or 16 and they packed like 300 people into a 200 person place, it was well over 100 degrees inside and you were asses to elbows. Somebody let off mace inside halfway through the show, there was a super violent circle pit and there was a huge fight afterwards...good times!

I would have to say Bad Company with the Doobie Brothers this past month at the VB amphitheater for sure. 311 with Ziggy Marley andThe Expendables is a close 2nd, but it's just not the same as the Old School Rock n' Roll Greats.

Leeway and Bad Brains at City Gardens in Trenton August 7, 1989. For those that know, Eddie from Leeway jumped out of the crows nest next to the stage to start the set which started with Rise and Fall after the intro. Heaviest set ever........

Metallica w/ Queensryche opening at Capital Center in DC. Justice for All tour 1988 (when Metallica still had a primary hardcore cult following).
Metallica / G-n-R / Faith No More at RFK stadium summer 1992...it was the opening show of that summer tour so it kick major butt (well Metallica and FNM did anyway GNR sucked majorly live even though I like their music and albums)!!!
Rage Against the Machine at Michael's 5th Ave. Baltimore 1993. Most brutal mosh pit I've ever been in...which basically was 100% of the packed crowd except for the back 20 feet or so where they sold merchandise.
Suicidal Tendencies / Wrathchild America at York Fairgrounds PA 1989. Great show...Suicidal rules and is one of the most underrated bands of all-time!!!
Lollapaloza 1992 (I think) in Northern Virginia somewhere (Laurel Lakes???). Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Ministry and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Best line-up of all Lallapalloza's in my book.
Pantera / White Zombie 1996 at Nissan Pavillion. Great show...Rob Zombie is an incredible entertainer!!!!

Oh, I've got to add Jimmy Buffet 1993 "Labor Day Weekend show" up in Boston MA. Probably the most fun time I ever had at a concert. I went with 30 college friends and we rented a Ryder rental truck for $40 a day and packed everyone in the back with a keg of beer. Completely illegal on pretty much all counts but at least only 1 of us had to drive!
:)
