after weeks of waiting for ANYTHING i pulled my oneill 5/4/3 Heat out of its bin to get ready for dawn patrol, and low and behold it has really bad dry rot around the neck area and it is toen. i think i left it on the heater last time out and it must have melted away the material? wtf...dont be an asshole like me and sit around watching a swell come and go with your **** in your hand, now i have to fork out 500 without the missus knowing...spam for the rest of the winter.

Not if you go the Hyperflex route like me and Matt. I have the 5/4/3 amp and it is the warmest suit I have ever owned, also the most stretchy suit ever. I paid $260 or so from Wetsuit Warehouse. Sorry for your troubles, hope this helps.

Yeah no sweat . I just no see the sence in spending 500 bucks for a suit when you can buy something for half the price that is just as good or better in my opinion. Let us know how you make out hopefully you can still get in the water tomorrow

dude, matt, seriously . you need to get commission for all these people converting. it just doesn't seem fair that you are doing some awesome sales for a company i would otherwise think was **** just because of the name. get me in contact with their VP and i'll recommend you for 10% for every sale you make. beer money.

firewire youll love it...its a warm suit and it fits me great. i think i have the flow or amp, whichever one is the cheaper one? too bad youll miss some surf. is there anyone you can borrow a suit from or check and see if any shops have one you can borrow or rent for the day. I know Kcoast has rental suits but theyre prolly just 3/2s but its worth a shot

Had what is now considered the flow and loved it. Used it hard for a year but had an issue with the knee delaming. This was my own fault since I bought an xlt rather than an xl and the knee pad was below my knee cap. Called them up, they gave me an RMA and next thing I know I had a brand new suit in the right size on my doorstep.....after a year of use! Wore that one for a year and sold it to get the new Amp which was 60 bucks more but is incredibly nice with a satin like sin that sheds water. Other than getting ducked I don't feel any moisture but sweat :D.

Same here. Hey Matt, how's the longevity on the Hyperflex suits? I've read some complains that they quickly start to deteriorate.

Nah none of mine have worn out quick. My oldest suit from them is 3/2 flow (older model) and is problaly going on it 5th season now . The only thing thats wrong with is the lettering as coming off. I got a 4/3 thats on its 3 rd season and my new 5/4/3 Flow and I got a 1.5 mil long sleeve top for windy days in the summer. I never had any real issues with seams giving out , zippers breaking or neoprene dry rotting or ripping .
They all have really nice strech and they are really comfortable. I got a pair of there hot socks all I can say is wow I thought my feet were warm before in my 7mil boots they were sweating today . Plus with the hot socks you can get you feet in and out of you suit easier

As did I... I Sorry MATT I canceled my Hyperflex order and went with a 6/5/4 O'neill Heat for 300$. I couldn't wait. I am very happy with the new suit it was sooo very warm. I never felt that warm in january before! I lasted 3 hours out there today and could have lasted probably 3 more.
It sucks that I had to spend 300 bills for a new suit, but its far much warmer than my 5/4 oneill heat. Big difference.

Some of the older lower level suits were crappy. I had a 3/2 with zero superstretch and I hated it. I'm thinking a 4/3 for $150 would have been made from the same material. That said I had a few oneils that were lower level suits that had the same problem, tight, no stretch etc. Before I started buying Hyperflex I tried on a lot of suits, from oneil, ripcurl, billabong, excel. When I tried on one of the better hyperflexes it felt just like the excel and was over $100 cheaper. I took the chance, got more than my money out of it, and now have nothing but Hyperflex suits.

i wouldnt call hyperflex a lower level suit just because its cheap (actually inexpensive) and doesnt have as great teams as other companies but their quality is good if not better than the high level suits

Ugghh, that's not what I said, I said the older Hyperflex lower level suits. And yes they do have lower, price point products that were and are crap. I have owned 5 of their suits and still own 3 so I understand that they are not all lower level.
