Im 6'5 185lbs... I just want something to play around on. I surf so this would be something that I would use just to have some fun with....and maybe try it out on some good days!! What would be a good entry level board that wouldnt break the bank?? Thanks

BZ makes good value boards for messing around on. I'd get something long though since you're so tall. Should run you like $150 I would guess.

What do you guys consider a longer board for a tall guy...I see some lengths from 40" to 44"....is anything over 43" considered a longer board?? sorry I know nothing about sponging:D

You should be riding 45"-47" for your size.

i use my bodyboard so little that i just got one of the Legendary ones that all the shoobies use but its fine for the couple days i use it a year..when its flat i prefer skateing than sponging. I have a 44" and im 5'5" and 125 pounds

Typically, the 'longer boards' are used for Drop knee, but given your height and weight, you should get right around a 45".

a 45 seems way too big to me. he is tall as shizzz but only 185lbs and something that big will feel like a boat on him. im 6'3 185 and i ride a 42. a 43 would be perfect plus there are alot more selections in sizes around a 43. just my thoughts about it

I agree that 44 and under offers more selections. Above 44 will get more costly.

I agree, get the Big Bruddah, has a great template, board is rated for waves between 1ft to 15ft, the board won't feel big to a 6' 5" person. I ride a custom BSD board link: http://www.benseverson.com/ Ben was always second to Mike Stewart, but helped make BZ what they are today. good luck shopping

i would suggest a 43 or a 44. im 6 foot even and i ride a 42 and its a little big for me. Anything from BZ, Custom X, and Mike Stewart Science are all good boards and they all have a large selection

just get a no6 goliathe, or goliathe icon. im prety sure they come in 42, or 43.5. and the board is much thicker. i think a 63 mm core? the board will float you perfectly and wont feel to big.

Very meager come back at best. In fact, quite lame. Talking about someones mother? C'mon..that's too easy.

I love picking on the inferiority complex that all y'all non-athletic d!ck draggers have!

Dudes, BZ...ok board for youngins! I would stay around 43 bc you will have way more options. Me personally, I'm a gear head and would stay away from BZ, Morey unless it's a Pro board (Bunting is sick), and most Custom X boards. I stick to Aussie boards but the are tough to get in the states. If your willing to drop a 250$, you'll have a better board than most spongers in the water. Ceck out BoogerKing or bodyboarders.com/au. I now my stuff when it comes to boards so if you have any questions just ask.
