2000 Ford Focus SE....you dont even have to tell me my ride is sick! I was gonna post a pic but i didnt want to put everyone elses ride to shame.
-driver side window doesnt work.
-broken driver side door handle (have to open the driver side door through the passenger side)
-both back doors dont lock
-passenger side tire looses air rapidly to the point im filling it up with air every 3 days...
the back seats still lay down so i can fit my shortboard and fish inside w/o putting a kooky soft rack on the tuna can with wheels.

im afraid im giving away my true identity on this one, but if ya haven't id'd me yet then this prolly won't help.
i bounce around town in a 2003 subaru baja, the perfect blend of a car/truck. got enough space to throw plenty of boards in/haul when i need to. Also have a hard rack. Ample cab space for 4 people, tinted windows, manual transmission, and Pennsylvania plates (so you can judge me when i roll by with boards)
love my lil half-truck!

Not a very good "surf ride" but my blade fits nice on the front seat when reclined. Have to keep up the corporate image.... Tough when it always stinks like wetsuit though! HAHAHAHA

i get a choice of cars as i just drive what ever my parents say. so i can either drive a 2002 ford explorer eddie baurer edition with a v6 a year old transmission and a 8 month old new valve springs and rocker arms. then i can drive a 2004 chevy silverado v8 with the z71 so it has offroad and enough power to towmy boat. then for the water if i need to get to a island i have a 18 foot scout 90hp yamaha engine. it is currently out of the water due to it having an oil leak.

here is my warning do not get a ford! they suck really bad. the transmissions suck. and their engine parts suck really bad. like on my ford explorer the transmission went and the guy lied to us and said the engine was in good shape so we forked out the 2k for a new transmission then come july 8 months later the valve spring broke. and let me tell you all something and this is coming from a kid who's dad rebuilt a 1980 ferrari, valve springs ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO BREAK. and so we fixed it but the dealerships will rip you off bad. like with the spring they charged the service fee (95$) then they wanted an additional 500 just to open up the engine to tell us what my dad was able to figure out just by listening to the engine and thats what a true mechanic can do. so if there a mechanic on here if you can master listening to a engine and figure out what is wrong i congratulate you. so dont buy a ford.

my 99 ranger XLT 2x4 has 165k and is the most trouble free vehicle Ive ever owned...
Ive owned it for over 5 yrs now and in that time the only time it ever gave me a scare was 2 summers ago, when it was running on 5 cyl's, I saved up $2.5k for the repair and it came out to $37... dollars, for a frayed spark plug wire.
I love my ranger and would only consider selling it if someone offered me a price I couldnt refuse, which isnt going to happen :D

mine is a 3.0l with a 5 spd automatic :)
Ive seen ton's of ford's with 200k + miles, still running strong.
that said, I live in FL, which just happens to be one of the flatter states in the north continent. (in both waves and landscape) ;) and everything is so spread out here compared to other states, so Im sure that plays a part in the longevity of the vehicles with higher miles.

THinking bout an escalade anyone know how those hold up?
dunno how they hold up, but i know how horrible they are on gas...never mind the fact that only posers think that escalades make good surf-mobiles.
not that i have any room to talk. i drive a 2002 nissan altima w/ yakima racks. the back seats are split 60/40, so i can put a shortboard inside & still be able to put someone back there if need be. the log (obviously) goes on the racks.
i don't generally go surfing w/ a whole crew in tow, so it suffices.
my ideal surf vehicle would be a jeep cherokee 4x4. those things are bomb proof!

I do. Gas mileage all depends on how much boost you like... I can get around 21-23 mpg average, but sometimes I can get like 16-18. And yes it is AWD.
