Photographer, Videographer, Surf Instructor
I am a student at the University of Central Florida attaining a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. I am minoring in Spanish while also focusing on arts as well as behavioral and social sciences. I have also spent some time studying education before branching out to other schools of thought. After college, I have ambitions of taking all of the knowledge I have acquired from the spectrum of subjects I have studied, as well as my experience, and implement them into educational documentaries. Another aspiration that I hold is to become a traveling surf photographer for a company in the surfing industry.
Surfing has had a tremendous influence on my life and would love to be able to pursue my biggest passion. I am currently taking steps to get to that point in a variety of ways. In June, I started my own photography and video service business, focusing mainly on surfing. I also teach surfing as a private contractor, through the Ron Jon Surf School, at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. At UCF, I am the President of the Surf Club while also a competitor for the Surf Team in the National Scholastic Surfing Association. By attaining experience in these different fronts, I believe I am gaining the credibility that I need to reach my future goals.
Community service is something that I value very much. I volunteer as a surf instructor at Surfers for Autism and the Special Olympics. I also work with the Getaboard Foundation, which focuses on teaching at-risk kids how to surf and skate while also motivating them to do well in school. I'm currently getting the surf club at UCF more involved with these as well as Relay for Life. I plan on documenting all of this and creating short, narrative videos on the different causes.
