I guess you need a steep breaking wave, so that you can build speed and just boost off the lip but either Iam creating too much drag by kicking my leggs as i bottom turn up the face of the wave or not building enough speed. when i do a roll i usually push off with my arms but thats not really catching air I kind of just fall into the flats.
