Hopefully what has happened with Phelps will spark a substantive debate in the media that might lead to an actual change to the existing stagnant policies towards marijuana as a drug. Unfortunately what happens is sides polarize themselves and become either for or against, liberal political pundits suggest the legalization while their conservative counterparts call for which hunts, straight edge kids declare the allegiances while stoners laugh and make fun of the headlines. The malaise in the middle of that is were the fragile truth lies in what consuming THC is all about. The fact that Michael Phelps has smoked pot has nothing to do with the fact he won eight gold medals in the Olympics. England is full of a lot of jealous wankers and tabloid media who broke the story cause they want to see Americans cast stones at an olympic hero that the UK could not produce.
It's a natural medicine, no bones about it. The Chinese civilizations were using it while native Lenapes where pissing in the Atlantic and Europeans where running from the Romans over two thousand years ago. The classification of it as a drug is merely a rhetorical misnomer that was defined over the last hundred years. It's our perception of the semantics being used.
Just recently I had two of my wisdom teeth pulled out and was prescribed Vicodin. I chewed on that for two days and became lost to the world. Seriously I was feeling no pain as I sat in front of the boob tube completely content with the act of staring. I decided to stop the dosage and eat a special shake with medicinal butter. I got up, started plotting some creative meals and took to some writing and even walked along the beach and recalled some great sets from the summer.
All I'm saying is just because something is classified as legal or illegal doesn't make it wrong or right. That debate is always open and is the one that ultimately needs to be had because sheiitt, it was the debate, or lack there off, that ultimately made it illegal in the first place.
ps. if they actually charge Phelps then they better investigate and charge everyone who was at that party, especially the bong owner! A full investigation, that's where policing money should go to, right?
I have a friend who has a signed Chong Bong.
kind brothers, i have to say i smoke almost every day, but i do not like smoking before i surf.
i do okay, but i like to be in a prime mental state when im out there. and if im high, i usually dont remember a good wave as long as a would have otherwise.
i prefer to smoke AFTER i surf... haha
i blazed up not too long ago with a friend before paddling out
It was nuts every time i duck dived a wave it was like i was interviewing it on a talk show and i was giving all the different waves names
so wierd
BAAHHAHAH!!! Whether that is true or not..funny in my book.
you know something all of you are losers for either doing drugs or used to if you stopped then okay. but seriously guys drugs will kill you,get you locked up in jail so dont do them. and besides id rather be outside of bars surfing little shin high to double overhead barrels then getting myself high and being locked up.
You have a lot of learning to do...
This isn't about drugs...its about weed. WEED HAS NEVER KILLED ANYONE!!! THERE'S NO PROOF OF IT DOING THAT NOR IS IT HARMFUL!!!
Now, about being locked up..that's different. But that comes down to the person being smart about it...
Being naked is illegal but who says its wrong.
No weed. Just Sizzurp!
