I had a great session as well. I checked a bunch of spots for like 45 mins in Monmouth County and paddled out around 10. It was super fun until about 11:30, lots of barrels right and left and very makeable if you could handle the drop. A few guys pulled into some solid overhead sets, but after the tide filled in more and the wind picked up it got junky. Good session for me though, I'm glad I called off.
It's just a really tough swell angle for most spots in moco. Not like a south medium period swell where every jetty is reeling. I'd say about 90 percent of breaks were 90 percent closeouts. Very very few breaks were really good. I'm happy to say I found one. It kind of underscores the importance of knowing your local breaks and which breaks work on what kind of swell.

I had to work 7a-4p and was hoping to have clean waves when I came home like the forecast...nothing but deep nonsense on the north and south side with a bumpy 1st st with around 40 people on it...I stayed in a drank a few beers insteadQuote:

All you had to do was bottom turn and set up and you were going to get barreled. The only problem was the current pulling me out to sea, it was so bad that i was consitently paddling back in. I surfed until 1230. It was an amazing day for me did not feel like i was wasting my time at all, best surf session ive had for a while.
Chincoteague was disorganized closeouts at dawn. The winds were 0. Tide was still low. The swell was there, but being wasted. So i went to work haha.
don't know what you guys are talkingabout. moco from 3-dark last night (wed) some bombs were coming through -headhigh to 1 ft oh on set. can't see that swell faded to waist high overnight
thursday morning was effing amazing. first spot i checked was peeling hollow lefts 745-10
To bad the time change didn't happen yet, you coulda dawn patrolled it. I made it out a half hour before sunrise, shared a right hander with 2 guys for about an hour before it got crowded. Made it back to work by 10. Never seen so many guys get slotted in one single session in vb. My buddy saw one guy get a legit 3-4 second shack.
Surfline wins the forecast battle against swellinfo this time...it was definately more 5' to 7' (surfline) than 3' to 4' (swellinfo). Keep downplaying the forecast tho Swellinfo, keeps the crowds a bit smaller.
