Surfline censors the location of a photo

so i quickly looked through the new east coast photo spread on surfline from the last two swells this afternoon and the below image had a caption that to the best of my memory said " x pro surfer and other pro surfer were getting 10 second barrels in new jersey."

so just now i got bored and looked through the photos again and try to figure out where some of them were. so i see the photo below and the caption now simply says somewhere on the east coast. with the angle and scenery i'm guessing it's sandy hook.

anyone have any guesses? did anyone see the original caption? micah, have you ever had to do that, or been asked to do that with a photo or video on this site?

this **** fascinates me because surfing is so much about the adventure and finding new places. with the abilities of google earth, social media and other 21st century tech advancements the reality of the secret spot is many times just fleeting.

because now i'm bored and more interested. the photo is credited to osiris torres. after google/facebook search theres a guy with that name that bases out of south jersey and does surf photography. so now i'm thinking its somewhere down south but with the angle of the photo and the angle of the swell i'm really confused.

Never been to Sandy Hook so my guess based on the foliage would have to be IBSP. North Jersey and South Jersey should be two seperate states. Those of you in North Jersey can have Bon Jovi and Hair Gel....Us here in the south call Springsteen and Pork Roll.....

first rule of secret spot club. if you have a secret spot don't take pictures of secret spot.
second rule of secret spot club. if you do take pictures, don't post them to facebook.
third rule of secret spot club. if you do take pictures, and you do post them to facebook and surfline decides to publish the photo of your secret spot don't leave your facebook settings left to public.

yeah looks more like sandy hook. haven't been there in years. you usually don't see carriers that close to the ocean either that far south though occasionally i'll see them in cape may.

Springsteen was born in Long Branch, raised in Freehold, and got his start in Asbury...pretty sure that's a claim for the north.

Have we ever been asked to censor stuff that users publish?

OF COURSE! ALL THE TIME, people get upset about a surf report that was posted or a photo/video that was uploaded. I am very familiar with the nature of the beast :)

Since they pumped up there it breaks in like 6 inches of water. Even if everyone knew about it only a few would even considering surfing there, especially on a big ground swell. No spot in Jerz is a secret.

went to high school out on sandy hook. Every morning coming over the little bridge I would get about a 5 second view of the surf. It was always TORTURE when I saw it was going off. Junior year I would just throw my gear in the car and go up early or skip the morinng and surf the cove. I've heard lately that Gunnison has been breaking better.

Last time I surfed Gunny it was a perfectly clean wave, but breaking at about twice the speed as a mortal can go on a surfboard. But that was about 6 months ago.
