Anyone watching the Reef Pro Webcast?

yaaa man he was absolutely brutal to listen to. i really liked shea/shane.

i don't understand how with the webcasts in Hawaii during the high season that you can't find some other guy to commentate. ughhh

ok so now to the actual surfing. SO.MANY.AIRS. it was definitely a study in the new-new generation of aerial surfing. i remember watching ...What's really going on from 96' and they do a suppppppper slo mo on a chris ward frontside 360 since it was so innovative. now guys do those in there sleep.

Agreed.. I'm only 20 years old so I never really got to see the early years of surfing, but I do find it amazing how soo many guys at my break can pull off 360 airs. It used to be something epic to pull off, but now you can see the move performed countless times at any decent break.

i'm only 26 but i remember watching (on vhs!) The Show, Momentum, What's Really Going On and Feral Kingdom like 4593859 x's when they came out. that seemed so progressive then. Nathan Fletcher Punker Pat and Ratboy and those guys were doing the whole skateboard inspired airs back then but no one really on tour was doing it. I mean Occy and sunny won world tours back then. occy was not landing backside slobs in a heat.

Don't get me wrong, I totally respect what the aerialists are doing to push the sport in a new direction, and I am incredibly jealous of their skills. But there's just something so timeless and beautiful about Taylor Knox setting a rail and throwing buckets. No matter what guys do above the lip, there will always be a place for rail surfing IMO.
