That's a tough one... at least the "for good" part. Generally, you'd paint on the foam and lam over it, but you can also paint on the hotcoat, and seal with spray acrylic. Several coats might help it last longer, but eventually, you'll wear off the finish. I've not had good success glossing over acrylic spray, so I would avoid that option. You can, however, epoxy over certain paints, but that's added weight with no real structural benefit, costs a lot, and you need to be really careful about what kind of paint you use and how it's applied.
What is it, exactly, that you're trying to do?
i was gonna let a friend who is a really good artist just use it basically as her canvas. and i was gonna prep and finish it for her as long as she did the art work. and shes gonna use some sort of paint pens as well.Quote:

As oar404 said, don't goop on the paint. It's best if it's sprayed. Krylon works. Automotive paint is best, and you can sometimes get it in the can. That said, stencils work well. Clear coat with rattle can acrylic.
It's a surfboard. Surfboards have a lifespan. Make it look pretty and ride it.
did you sand it down first and then paint? as ive read to sand it down with like 200 grit and then paint and then seal and wet sandQuote:
