Surfboard Repair
Bought this old board recently and would like to know the history behind it...its a south shore single fin

AND...its a fish tail so I'm wondering what steps i should be taking to fix it. Few dings here and there is the easy repair, but the tail is in bad shape...any thoughts?http://i43.tinypic.com/262kxs2.jpg

You're gonna have to grind out all of the cancer and fill with resin/qcell mixture. Color matching may be a challenge. I live in the 'Bury. PM if you want me to help/counsel/etc.

After grinding, Use 3M 233+ tape to make a resin dam on each tip. Polyester resin will melt other tapes. Overfill with Qcell/resin. Let cure, reshape tips, lam tips with 4 oz. cloth, fair edges with sandpaper, hotcoat, sand, spray with clearcoat - in a nutshell.

surfing cowboys.com is a place to start for the history of it. i got a single fin diamond tail for 33 bucks at a hicktown farm auction. theyre mid 70s-ish. id say greenlights advice is about all ya need to fix it .cool lookin boards but weird to ride around here unless you find something like a point to take it out in.
