hey guys, im new to longboarding and need some advice on fin sizing. im gonna be riding an 8 and a half foot board. Im only about 110 pounds. I need advice on where to go. also anyone know about the turbo tunnel fins?

turbo tunnel fins are actually really good for nose riding. work well as a 2+1 setup also. Larry "Probox" Allison makes them and they work well.
cool, theyd also be fine for "just riding" not just noseriding?
if your just riding use it as a 2+1 not just a single. also it depends on the size fin you get.
What ever fin you get at your weight you should keep it small......7 to 7.5"(with the turbo) for the center. That will help you alot better with your turning.
Sorry, but it's not a long board unless it's over 9'.

I wasn't trying to bust your balls. If I remember correctly you mentioned you were interested in getting into competing. IF you plan on competing in the longboard division, the ESA (if I remember correctly) classifies a longboard as 9' and over. Also, back when I was your age and size I rode and competed on a 9' Mickey Munoz HPLB, which I still have (needs restoring).Quote:

But like I said, if you are just trying something new to have some fun--GO FOR IT! Shoot, I'll ride anything just to mix it up. I think you need a 7" slotted fin with a long rake and some good flex judging by your weight, and move it all the way up in the box. Personally I cannot stand stabilizer fins on a longboard and would avoid them at all costs
