I'd like to see the boards first hand. From the pics, they look like they have square rails.
this. they seem kinda cheaply made, to me...reminiscent of the aquajet boards of the 1960's or 70's. i'm also not keen on "outside" brands getting into the market & bringing, or coining, their own terminology w/ them. say what you will, but at least burton didn't start slapping it's name on boards after it purchased channel islands.
if you are in VB they have about a dozen of them at freedom surf shop. They look like "stretch" boards. Not sure what they are made of... but libtech produces a $5000 pro model snow board so they must be SCHWEET
also... what the heck ever happened to those saloman hollow hex type boards? they were all the $800 surfboard rage for a while there...
I have seen them and in my personal opinion I think they suuuck. Hated the shapes and thought the construction was gimmicky. Rockers looked like a **** backyard board. Don't even want to demo one...and I usually want to demo everything. I wouldnt even want to waste a paddle out on that thing.
Garbage
Don't count them out so quick. Mike Olson is a freaking genius. Lib Tech pretty much completely redefined snowboard design and construction over the last 5 years. I'm not super impressed with the look either of their surfboards but I'd like to surf one before saying they suck.
If someone showed you a snowboard 5 years ago with wobbly edges and alternating rocker/camber you would have thought they had gone insane or were on acid while designing it.
That's exactly what Lib Tech did and now every company is following suit. Lib paved the way.
