planning a trip to cape lookout in march

My friends and I are planning a trip in march and I wondering how are the conditions will be?

Are you going out onto Lookout proper (i.e. 4wd access only by small ferry and camping or renting one of the fish houses) or just to the area (i.e. Core Banks or Beaufort area)?
