Where in the hell on the Gulf Coast are you that you need booties and gloves?
It was in the 40s this morning in sarasota, plus people in florida are not used to the cold at all so they wear gloves when its not that cold
You are talking air temp. Grew up surfing Indian Rocks and Madeira, never used booties or gloves.
(not saying I am hard core) What beach were you at? I was in the Bahamas one time and one of the locals was complaining because it was 83, he said that was too cold. LOL
these were taken on Lido Key in Sarasota, apparently people cant take the cold because i was out with just my 3/2 and some guy paddled out with hood, boots and gloves
I was in san diego one time during winter in a springsuit and a couple guys commented. I said, hey, I am from the northeast, this is like bath water compared to home.
assuming he was wearing a 4/3 i was wearing the same thing yesterday in 40 degree water. my wetsuit is also an old quicksilver model not a xzip xcel
florida was approaching the realm of freezing air temps... I think a wetsuit was the right call..
as a former north port fla resident i can confirm that people down there are total pansies when it comes to "the cold" and also this is the most epic surf i've ever seen coming out of sarasota. that place sucked so bad.
