Steve, if it cost you \$700 to make the board.... it most likely costs Roy \$500 to \$700 to make the board.
so... \$500,000.00 minus \$700.00 = \$499,300.00 profit. its pretty easy to see why people can not and will not take Roy or his kook boards seriously. If I had to guess Roy has probably never sold 1 surfboard at those price levels.

Your calculation is incorrect, both the cost, the price and the profit figure are way out.

For a start I don't have any boards for sale at \$500k, and gross profit is misleading anyway.

The 'Hotkurl' price is USD \$1.47 million, the board will be featuring this year two luxury magazines one of which specified that they will only feature boards of ours with prices greater than one million.

'Luxury mags' are produced by sycophants for a miniscule reading audience of wankers. But, hey, if that's your marketplace...play on, Stuart, play on.

It's pretty retarded but there it is

None of us on this board are part of any group, Stuart. You can drop the persecution complex that you're salivating over, there in your wood-chip laden bunker.

You're not an enemy of anyone here. People just don't respect your blatant attempts to rip off surfers.

You're just a ****. A self-centered, narcissistic, poseur ****. Maybe in New Zealand that's a place of honor, but in America that means you're a phony. It also means people take you to accountability. It means we tire quickly of your asinine tactic of 'if i say it's factual, it's up to you to prove me wrong.'

No, Roy, no. Just because you say it's so, and that your board is worth over a million dollars, does not make it so. Ask Randy Rarick about when he test-rode one of your boards. And then wrote it up as the laughable piece of kindling that it is.

No one from the intelligent people who post on this board hates you. (Well, maybe the Shredmachine does because you didn't give him dibs on your pile of kindling to shott the roller coaster, but Shredmachine is, like you, in a world of his own making.)

So don't impose your BS world upon us.
Stop using your well-honed scam game to stick it to people for grotesque profits for yourself.
And stay away from the sheep there in NZ. They've addled your wee mind.

I disagree, one could easily make the case that any person is part of an infinite number of groups, in this case though I'm only identifying those who are part of a group think mind set.

Rip off?

That's not the case... I merely offer surfboards for sale, purchase is not compulsory.

Philosophically speaking any behaviour can be categorised as self centred by definition.

Narcissistic? That's wide of the mark as unlike Narcissus, I am married and have children.

Poseur? If you say so.

Value is subjective.

He kooked it.

To make it clear: I am free to post... you are free to ignore.

That's how it works.

You are attempting to order me to stop advertising such prices?

If so you will be disappointed to learn that I decline, and that my boards will be featuring this year in two luxury magazines, with a combined readership of over 1.5 million. The editor of one of these magazines specifically stated that he only wanted to feature those of my boards with a price of over a million USD. Currently there are three such surfboards.

You don't understand how the top end luxury market works.

Roy, the worst thing that could happen to you is have this guy Steve make a board identical to yours for USD \$700.00

Not at all, I've been selling plans and kitsets for these boards since 2004 and have been actively encouraging people to build their own.

Steve's board is by no means identical to the Earl either, since both the plan shape and rocker differ from the original.
