Why do you need the 6/5? If the 4/3 kept you purdy in the cold you're clearly harder than the rest. You're asking about getting into waves in strong winds yet you're about to double the rubber? Confucius say wtf?!
Go to Cape May tomorrow if you're going early. Maybe.....then again maybe not......
Hard offshores, man.......what can you do? There's something to be said for blind, late take-offs.......
Hard Offshores - don't try and get in early. Gotta spin around and take off late.......
Confucius says: Wind hold you up until wave ready to break......
Yeah, that something to be said for blind, steep takeoffs is "woahhllyyyy schittttt!!!!!"
I say it half a sesh sometimes. Could be the whole sesh maņana.
"Ya brah, I'll take the Gnarl Benedict with a side of fish tacos. Grilled. And three slices for Gruvi here. He likes pizza. Thanks breh!"
I used the confucius thing, and I didn't see it in your post above it.........Sorry to bogart your eastern philosopher...my bad.........I wasn't mimicking you or nothin'
Maybe we are the same person..........hmmmmmm
Conshreddus say that's creepy brah
u guys do realize hard winds make epic waves, right?
also offshore days are the days we pray for.that means barrels, onshore means crappy chop mushburgers.when the winds hard offshore, make sure to take a few more paddles after the wave picks u up.when u pop right up after 3 strokes, youll most likely come down with the lip.
as far as boards well u could probly get away with whatever u want.guys paddle 20ft pipe on a 5'9 like johnj and Kelly, but hey most of us aren't on their level.
east swells are actually really good condition for jersey.that means the waves break in relativlly calm waters and u can paddle out without getting your hair wet.south swells are the ones that bring plenty of strong rips,100yards of whitewater where u paddle and paddle but still get nowhere.i don't remember what kind of swell doomsday was,but it was breaking like 6-7ft at my spot with very little current.it was a day to remember.tomorrow looks epic.i drove past the beach earlier after work, victory at sea, miles of whitewater.should be churning up some good sandbars for tomorrow afternoon.i don't think im going to surf tho, might be a tough one.saturday for me and the 100 other kids who were afraid to paddle out tomorro
It's going to be good. Real good.
All you East Coast guys would laugh at a winter dawn patrol in San Diego. 40* air, 58-60* water, and dudes in hooded suits, boots and gloves
