I find the best relation to doing a snap on a surfboard would be doing like a powerslide on a skateboard. Especially if you keep your back foot on the kicktail and turn sooo hard that it slides. other than that it's all timingQuote:

thanks but whats a powerslide on a skateboard im not too good.
you have to also really put alot of weight on your front foot as you start the turn. that creates a pivot point and frees up the fins.

The key to every surfing manuever is a strong, deep, well timed, bottom turn. The rest just happens.
powerslide is like a sharp stop or turn thing. its hard to explain. also manuver back a little and than shift forward fastly. i cant explain it very well if only i had a camera
a powerslide is when you turn hard or throw your back foot out on a skateboard and this cause the wheels to lose grip from the ground or skid out and the board turns and stuff depending on which style of powerslide you didQuote:
