el nino is associated with less quantity of atlantic tropical storms, however, I think there is a lag period. For example, the ENSO status in winter correlates to what happens during the tropical season.
Although I don't enjoy the lack of storms, I'm loving the weather conditions. The air/water temps have both been in the low to mid 70s lately in NJ. Works for me! :D
