Never surfed in VA Beach before.
Not looking for anyones 'secret spots'
just looking to get info on the beach rules down there.
I've heard leashes are a must....
What about designated surf...
I have not heard anything about the regular boards, but I've been looking at them for a while
Seems the shaper has a good rep. It'd be worth checking out while you're out there.
If you're...
if you're looking for a ladder rack
Here is one on Craigslist

Yeah
I have a Silverado and before that a Frontier. If you can get the bed extender and put a pad on that. That's worked really well for me.
+1 on Jamie. He's done work form me on new boards with heavy glass and odd colors and matched it perfectly. He also tightened up a vintage hobie for me. All around amazing work.
I've got a Tyler Wingnose in the 9.8 range for about 700.
Great shape, good on the nose and FAST!
I'm in South Jersey between Philly and AC
If you're looking for a new board, you'll have a...
Nope still got her.
She's a beauty, and a lot of fun to ride. eventually I'll post some pics up and a proper for sale post.
a big +1 on that. Just picked up another custom from Austin last weekend. you cannot go wrong.
Heritage in OC should have some.
As others said there is a lot that it depends on. For me a 10" pivot covers just about all conditions.
But sometimes a fin with a nice rake is nice, or maybe the Rainbow El Gato fin can be a lot of...
Came across this on Craiglist
figured I'd post it up here for y'all to keep an eye for it. It's not mine nor do I know the guy

Someone...
I've had 3 of his boards 2 off the rack and 1 custom. Only sold one of them because I never used it. His boards are truly amazing in quality of build, form, function and art. If he was a west...
yeah it was pretty fun down at the south end of OC NJ Saturday morning.
Got some nice rides in
and traded in one board for a new one.
Tim is a great guy. Easy to deal with and talk too.
Only have had one board from him, but I still regret getting rid it of it.
Like Matt said
the size of board you want will depend on what you want to do
but also on your height and weight, and to a lesser degree what size wave you're looking to surf it on.
If you're...
There is usually a mix of boards.
Only been to a few but every time there are some short boards.
Like others have said it's all matter of preference or what you want to do
For me my Austin custom is the best. It is an unreal nose rider, and it's a great turner too
but IMHO best true nose...
I'm selling a similar board.
It's a blast in faster/bigger surf.
cannot go wrong with a Tyler Craftsman.
ah that was just the craigslist add for teh swap.
these are the boards I'm bringing.

cool very cool
thanks for the info. NR2 sounds like a really nice ride with good weight.
I dug the nr1 ride and glide but the drag from the fin placement killed me.
been eying up the nr2 like...
hubba hubba nice looking board.
how do you like the nr2?
how does it compare to the nr1?
Thanks
yeah I'll be selling some stuff
Matt - I'll have that 9.9 Cooperdesign Device up there for sale if you want to check it out.
Yeah the price is a pain no doubt, but most of these boards are high end and built to last. They are not built with light glass like a standard short board. Throw in that you're using twice as much...
