the wider you go the shorter you can go, if you're getting a 6'1 and you're semi new to surfing I'd say have the board at least 19 1/4 inches wide

Hey, i usually surf in the rockaways but i was thinking about surfing long beach this weekend, can anyone suggest a good break?
i dont kno about jersey but during hurricane Bill it took about half an hour to paddle out
montauk, ny is predicted to be 17.4 ft at 16 sec
ive never seen that big of a wave in my life even with bigger hurricanes than bill

not sure what hurricane it was but it was blowing like 30 kts offshore

and the board does take on a lot of water when there is a ding
my advice is to sand off the spot u sun-cured and suck out any water that could have gotten in then re-seal it up
OMG montauk had the best waves of the summer today
i got back from ditch at around 4 and a few of the waves I had were head high to 2 feet overhead
I take the F to Jay st. then the A to far rockaway
Montauk was amazing for the past 3 weeks but now all of a sudden the biggest surf is a knee high swell. does anyone know when the waves should get bigger?
