+1 on the rip curl 3/2 e-bomb chest zip. I'm going into my 3rd (4th?) season with mine, and it's holding up well.

From what I'm hearing, the dunes did help a bit in Ventnor. Everything I'm hearing is second hand right now, though. This waiting is killing us. We want to get in there and start cleaning up!
Nice pics. That was a perfect day with some sweet little waves. Just wish we could get more of those.
So funny considering one of his few lines as Lance:
"That's an old man's board, Chandler." Lance, what a douche.
Laird, on the other hand, I don't really have a problem with him. Ride what...
I'm interested to see what this breakwater ends up looking like. You gotta love these sand pumping projects: sand gets pumped in to AC and Ventnor. Within a few weeks/months/years, it ends up down in...
Ha! Too true, man. Last night I dreamed I had an endless bike ride - I never ended up getting to the beach.
I started wearing plugs last fall. I actually like them in the colder weather. It seems like they keep me warmer, as odd as that sounds. I've used both Mack's silicone putty and Doc's ProPlugs. I...
$530 doesn't sound ridiculous if it's in good shape, but I have to agree with the others that a 180mm prime is short for surf photography.
That's a nice lens, though, and the right buyer could...
Before I spent much time here, I wondered about the negative effects of the proximity of Atlantic City, too, and I have to say that I just don't see any problems from it. The crime in AC is...
I'll second that recommendation for Margate if you don't mind being south and want to be close to the beach. My wife and I love it here. Prices are reasonable, for the Jersey Shore. You can be in...
Hydration and stretching are definitely key to preventing cramps. I've also found that paying attention to my breathing helps with cramps. Sometimes, when I'm paddling to get into a wave, I realize...
This past Saturday in Longport, the water was so clean and clear, you could have thought you were in the Caribbean. There was no (absolutely none!) surf, so I just took a long swim. There were tons...
I'm using Hydro Tech 2s currently. Love them.
Even when it's warm I usually wear socks. Lightweight Smartwool short socks work really well for me (minimal drag and they stay put). When it's...
I was out there a few weeks ago, and there were a fair number of kneeboarders in the lineup. I thought that was interesting because I never see kneeboarders in NJ.
Lots of obstacles to avoid...
That sucks. I started wearing earplugs this fall (more for comfort and insurance against "surfer's ear" than anything else - my right ear canal is already noticeably smaller than the left). I don't...
Yeah, those pics get me fired up. We're killing the oceans with plastic. I know we should all be thankful for the wonders of modern chemistry, but floating plastic trash makes me nostalgic for the...
dude, my nads are tingling, i'm so excited.
You're talking about the Great Egg Harbor Inlet between Ocean City and Absecon Island. I'm always checking out the breaks in the inlet, wondering if anyone's ever tried towing into them. Never seen...

I know these threads are ridiculous, but whatever. Check the wind, yo. Get up early and scope the swell. Spend some time in the water. It's never a waste.
Yeah, the only reason I've held onto the larges until now is that other than the fact that they cram my middle toe, they fit perfectly.
I love my tech 2's. I lost a fin my first time out with fins. Haven't gone without tethers since. I have an extra pair of size L and could hook you up with a good deal on those, if you're interested...
