I did not see what the substrate was. Is it piles of oyster shell that are seeded to establish these reefs? (That's what they do in the Chesapeake bay.)
You said power cat but same idea.
Thanks for sharing your stoke. I used to cruise a southern cross 28 around the Bahamas, sounds like a good setup. Very few places you can safely anchor a sailboat and paddle to the break.
I agree si, shorter boards more volume, but I do love a pintail in bigger waves. It just grips so well.
I ride a 5'10 quad fish in smaller surf and this 6'4 when it's bigger.14143
I would stick with a 6'6 and beef it up. I recently got a 6'4 step up and love it. I told my shaper (bone surfboards) to make it like a Rusty Slayer. It has a ton of volume and a pin tail. I will...
Sailed there a decade ago from the Bahamas. Great fishing, there is a big drop off along the north coast I hooked up a lot. Did not see any surf, but I turned north at Havana. Western Cuba has...
Brighton on the other side of the pass gets more snow and is cheaper than most and is sick as you want.
If there are other people out and it's not complete death I am charging it. Checking it is my second favorite thing to do.
Took a hit to the kidney from my 9 6 and almost lost the kidney. I got a helicopter ride to Norfolk General. I was there 2 weeks. Months of recovery with a pee bag and abdominal drain. I win.
Bring a good pair of tweezers and band aids. Reefs there are sharp and urchiny. If you paddle from a boat it is way easier, but you will do some disco dancing on the inside at times. I rode a 6'4"...
Great grandma's recipe for inflammation is 9 gin soaked raisins. The gin must be infused with juniper berries and the raisins golden. Soak for a week and enjoy.
Wife sent me that food babe article. She convinced me we should be drinking good beer, something about you only live once. I didn't argue and have been drinking well lately. Yuengling cans for...
I saw a toy highlander stuck a few days ago, but I have also seen a Subaru outback get on and off the beach in deep sand.
Not rough clearance for Outer Banks.
4runner great on the beach and the back window goes down to stick your board out the back. Had a 97 accord wagon not 4wd but great car for surf, got 30 mpgs and reliable.
I have Michelin lt ms2 on my runner and they are great in the sand and road.
You don't wan at s for sand. You want a big bald flat tire. 20 psi any less and you risk derimming.
Sounds like your on to something, where did you learn all these techniques?
I agree beachbreak avoid surgery at all costs especially in the hip. Once diagnosed find a really good pt and get the muscle strong.
I've had both hips done. Left was a labral repair with femur shave. Right was a labral trim also with a femur shave. See as many doctors as you can and speak with past patients. As far as...
Billabong sg5 hooded 5/4. This suit fits me well and is super comfy and stretchy. I tried on the r4 and a xcel dry lock 5/4 and they both felt heavy and stiff in comparison. On the same note they...
Tim Nolte is a great shaper. He has a huge shop in Currituck and makes boards from start to finish. He specializes in larger boards, but can and does em all.
