Gnar...not talking about Mase (though it was good all day Sat).
No doubt Colin is on it...they have ski, why wouldn't they be?
That special place south of topsail and north of fort fisher was doing its thing...best I've seen it in five years
Thanks Everyone.
I understand the sea breeze thing. This is more about large scale systems as noted above. Cheers.
I posted it in mid atlantic forum even though i surf southern nc and obx...Anyway I was wondering if you could help me out. It seems in the spring (aka now today was 75) that we get lows coming off...
A block, I live sound side...Can't beat living at the beach and going to UNCW (5 mins away) even though the waves suck.
A Certain spot south of Carolina Beach was 6 ft with overhead sets and gaping like Paris Hilton ...Wrightsville was chest-head (at best), crowded as fudge, and has the worst sandbars in North...
I'll be here with you wbsurfer...If our roof doesn't pop off come by for a brew (Henderson St.) just south of the pier.
I live in Wrightsville beach (just outside of wilmington nc)...all the freshman just moved in to start the new year. Anyway, hurricane party to say the least as we will def have classes canceled. ...
I know Jimmy is a good shaper. Hurricane Earl at Holden Beach's inlet looked like reverse J-bay and the board held up. Thanks Man
Quit hating...if it were the 80s 3/4ths of you wouldn't even surf b/c there was no internet, cams, and 8 day forecasts---suck it up and actually check the surf in person or shut the fk up
Holden was nice (i surfed the inlet and it was epic), but the main reason it wasn't closing out at such a period was the direction of the swell...the little east in it kept it from closing out
clean, but looks waist high and frustrating...hopefully it'll fill in for tomorrow
South east NC started filtering in some earl swell around 9 this morning...currently rising and should get pretty big by morning, hope the winds kick north.
I was going to post a long angry reply:rolleyes:, but 'shutup' just expressed my views with two comments. Haha well said.
thorogood, what are you my english teacher? eat a d**k and stay in sc.
please don't name drop...i know its not a secret anymore but if you can't even spell it correctly why write it at all, anyway it should be fun friday, thurs. might be a little windy- good luck
yeah East swell and south facing beaches usually don't match unless its like 8 ft with a 9+ second period (even then its gonna be head maybe bigger). Now with earl we've got a different scenerio...I...
Nice little blog. It's too bad folly doesn't get good that often (though I have scored it super super fun) b/c there are some really good surfers down there that don't get the credit they should,...
if you're 5'8 and have any idea what you're doing a 6'0 should be more than enough for head plus (6-8) foot surf...paddle hard, don't puss out, and lean back on your fins. 90% of it is commitment.
doesn't get much better than having swell, no power, and partying with UNCW freshman who live too far away to go home:D(and have to crash at your pad)...category 3s and up are no fun though
wrightsville will be blown out till mon (unless you know where to go)...EI has certain spots that are going to fire you just need to know where to go...keep driving east and the winds shouldn't be...
N. Topsail was head plus bombs and clean till about 11...If you want some juice go there, it was sick
Yeah I agree with slide...that new logo doesn't seem too original, but his boards are sick and thats all that really matters, cheers
