he's got kind of a Jill Hansen thing going.
that was awesome.
the top one is Hurricane Earl, 6 or 7 years ago...not sure about the bottom one. rare, to be sure, but has the potential to be epic when it does go off.
define "one time". one wave? one minute? one hour? one day?
sometimes Holden Beach looks like this:
it was a wonderful weekend - surfed myself silly and caught tons of fun ones. fun easy peelers, some chest-high on the sets, just an abundance of surf. it's been the best week of summer, hands down....
not possible. the ridiculousness of Southerners knows no limits.
awesome day here in CB. waves all day, evening glass-off, more to come tomorrow. not many people out, either.
congrats! i think the pic was taken Friday, the 16th...it wasn't nearly that big the next day. i got the pic second-hand, so i'm not 100% on the details, but i believe the surfer is Tony Silvagni.
yup, only waist-high, occasionally bigger, but it was a classic summer's eve glass-off. never really got dumpy, right thru low tide...just glassy peelers that picked up a bit in size as the tide...
last night in CB was so much fun, it would have been well worth the risk.
not in my neighborhood.
looks like Cortes Bank...
anyone ever able to post an animated gif as your avatar?
and on a side note, what do stand-up paddleboarders say when they see each other?
a local pro, getting juiced here in CB back in May....

is that the Special Olympics reporter for the Weather Channel?
Tommy Ramone, dead at 65....last of the Ramones, best punk band ever.
got a link for that? maybe an Amazon link?
excellent point - going alternative still requires some kind of rideable wave. the more so, the better.
that being said, i've spent more time this summer on one of these than my regular short...
that's funny - i find these days i don't really want to make casual chat with people who do surf...the conversations are pretty much the same over and over: "been out lately?" "did you get some last...
broke out the WaveStorm for the big swell, huh?
shedding rubber does wonders for your surf attitude. water's 84 degrees here and i'll go surf slop that i wouldn't have looked twice at 4 months ago.
