My son has been using a well worn 3/2 for a few weeks. Of course his only other choice was a 5/4. He wasn't too chilled after an hour + last night.
Yeah, no big deal. Mary Lee is a surfing buddy of mine.
I am using an Xcel 5/4 Drylock this winter. IMO deffinately warmer than an Xcel Infinity Xzip-2 5/4/3. Sheshday has good prices but limited sizes. Free to register.

I use it on the real cold days to help prevent chapped skin. However, it does not keep my face warmer.
Good luck with your new suit. I've read many raves abount the Mutant, but agree with mitchell's view. I know it's tough finding a good fitting suit at your age knowing you will out grow it by the...

My vote goes to G-Shock, it's always in the water with me and never an issue. I've had mine for about 8 years, replaced the battery and band once.
I use an old G-Shock that just fits over my 5/4. Maybe a velcro band would work with your watch, I used them before I got the G-Shock.
Used no more than 10 times last winter. Great shape, no leaks. Asking $125

I never had an issue with putting it on. The trick to getting out is to slide the suit down the left arm and remove the left elbow first. Not easy, just easier.
A lot of good advice has been provided. Here's my $.02. When looking for another wetsuit make sure the seams are glued and blind stitched (GBS). Taping inside and liquid taping outside the suit...

Back in the day we placed the loop of connecting cord/string between the fin and the screw plate in the fin box. When you insert the screw, the loop was held in place by the screw.
Google surfboard shaping supplies for more sources. I have been using Greenlight because they are local. I found SurfSource and only used them to obtain parts to modify the exhaust port of my...
Only surfed one night session many years ago in April on a stomach to chest swell. With the full moon as the only light, it was surfing in a thick fog as I really couldn't see the waves until they...

I started at age 13 in '72. My first board was a wide 6'0" first gen twinfin Challenger with a squared off tail. It was like new except for one ding in the rail and it only cost $65. It seemed like...
I have used Vaseline to protect against wetsuit rashes since the late 70's with no problem/damage to the suit.
I started my 7 year old son on a 6'2" X 20 1/2. This board was also thick. It provided plenty of float and was very stable for him. After 2 (summer) seasons he moved to a 6'0" x 19 1/8 x 2 3/8...
For what you would like to get out of the fin, I think you should take a look at the AM2. It has more rake than other fins, meaning it will preform well in good surf. A smaller traller fin might not...
