Without having ridden it, I have as much respect for it as a I can. I understand how difficult and dangerous that break is. And I appreciate it's power and shape.. quality-wise it's far better than...
Ok I'm enjoying this but is it just my local bias that makes me likey watching the ECSC and it's unpredictable waves more? I feel like watching a competition at this wave in Tahiti would get old...
Yep, and I tend to think body boarder's that ride the outside stuff end up with the best waves because the really big sets often catch surfer's inside while we can drop in late on a steep face and...
I think it's because bodyboarders can catch more waves ;) Many a time when everyone has been caught inside on a big set I've been able to spin around and drop in late. It's kinda nice to be honest....
Not sure where the topic-starter lives but I had fun playing in the windy slop at Jennette Pier yesterday... before almost getting struck by lightning ;)

I was going to ask the same thing. They actually let you in the water in the resort area? Like some others I was thinking about hitting the high streets or head down to Croatan or Sandbridge. Haven't...
Excited and a bit nervous. I always get like that when the waves are big. Been a while since I've paddled out in DOH but the wave period looks favorable... or at least non-life threatening ;)
You fail at trolling... and English. Bodyboarders can paddle out in double overhead as evidenced by my and other people's posts in this thread. Did you bother reading or did you just see the word...
I went out in Hurricane Felix swell waaaay back in '95 at Boilers in the OBX. I'm guessing that day the sets were rolling in at 10'-12'. The shore break was overhead and breaking in water 2' deep....
