About Freeze for a Cause and the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation
The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation is excited to announce that the 4th Annual “Freeze for a Cause” surf contest will be held Saturday February 5, 2011 at the world famous Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, NJ. “I’ve been to 3 out of the 4 Freeze events and they are always a great time, it is really cool how the surfing community from the north hosts the foundation to raise money for what we do” Said vice president, Paul Giunta, “it’s a great way to see another part of the state’s coast in the winter.”
The Freeze for a Cause is NJ’s only extreme cold water surfing contest and includes a Men’s and Women’s Open as well as a long board division. There are still sponsorship opportunities available. Interested parties should contact Dan Cellucci at HYPERLINK “mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org” email@example.com or visit us at www.deanrandazzocancerfoundation.org.
Following the event, there is an after party hosted by the Hammer family, at the Crab’s Claw Inn beginning at 7:00 p.m. with reduced drink specials, dinner buffet, door prizes, raffles and much more. Tickets for the after party are $25.00 at the door.
The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation is a New Jersey Non Profit and 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible. The Foundation was created 10 years ago when New Jersey Professional Surfer, Dean Randazzo was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes. Since successfully battling the disease three times, Dean continues his competitive professional surfing career, proudly representing the Garden State all over the world.
Donations to the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation are used to fund cancer research, promote cancer awareness and assist individuals battling cancer both financially and emotionally. To date, the Foundation has donated over $200,000.00 to individuals and organizations such as the Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer Fund, Shore Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, Gilda’s Club of South Jersey and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of South Jersey.
