Okay so all of you know I am a loyal Hyperflex user but after looking in the line up I see Xcel more previlent. I am gonna pay off one of my boards I got on hold at Woodys early so I will have some extra money in my tax return that I can use to get some new rubber. I am not looking to replace what I got already I just wanna have a spare winter setup for them days where you can get 2 sessions in.
With that being said I am wondering on the 5/4/3 drylock with the 7mil drylock boots and mits.
How do these hold up ?? I hear conflicting things about there drylock boots and glove to be not all that great.
I love my 5/4 infinit drylock its a great wintersuit and is as warm as can be. The wetsuit is nice and comfortable when your in it. The boots are good too but word to the wise about the gloves. Alot of my friends have them but dnt like them. They complain about them tearing. I noticed that if you keep folding them inside out they will but ive seen it happen with rip curl and o'neil. Mine are 2 years old now and perfectly fine(lobster claw). I would defintily recomend the drylock. I have a 5/4, 4/3 and 3/2 drylock and all r great wetsuits
gee, the wizard pic is cool, but wasn't a nude pic of mila kunis. drat.
back on topic, i just got a pair of 5mm 5 finger drylocks and used them for a coupla hours today and they worked fine. am replacing a pair of o'neills that i have had to make a lot of repairs on. as for longevity, i will let you know at the end of the season.
the seal is pretty tight, so i had to go up a size so my wrists would not get squeezed.
I have an xcel 5/4/3 that I bought from my buddy for $50, greatest deal ever....I love it.....I also use o'neill heat 7mil boots and the xcel five finger.......no complaints with that setup. I actually just got a new xcel 3/2 xzip the other day , I'm a big fan of their suits.....I have yet to try out a hyperflex...I hear nothing but great reviews on them.
They have a criss-cross style on the neck panels that stretch out, so getting in is pretty easy, a little squirming is necessary, pull over hood with a minimal front zip.......my arms and legs never let water in, only when im under when it comes through the hood......you'll stay warm
keep your eyes open for sales.............eastern lines just had a 40% off everything. Unless you did crazy research for better prices, they had some decent deals.

In my third season with Xcel mittons, best gloves I've ever had. No sign of wear, no leaks, and really warm. Used to use rip curl and Oneil, claws and 5 fingers, none held up like these. Maybe I got lucky since others have had problems?
As for their suits, I have no idea. But like you, I love my Hyperflex. It's starting to show some signs of wear (3rd season), and I'm fairly certain I'll get another. This time the Flow, because I think todays Flow may be identical to my 3 year old Amp. Great suit for the money.
