Hey guys, I'm getting new gear for the season and I was wondering if anyone here has had good experience with any of these gloves, all 5mm 5-finger. I don't want to spend more than $50 for new gloves

Be using O'Neill 5mm for years. I have had minor problems after a fair amount of use with a small leak between two fingers from stretching them a lot and being in a hurry to get them off., easy to fix with some black wet suit glue. Once fixted stay fixed. Only happened with one pair a couple of years ago. Plenty warm all most all the time. Never tried Patagonia but have a killer Patagonia suit. You will have to shop around to get O'niell or Patagonia at 50 or less.
yeah i want to get some personal experience tips first before I buy. ive already found patagonia and psycho for under 50, so i'm good there
xcel infiniti drylock 5 mm 5 finger gloves - plenty warm down to about 40 - 45 but a but chilly last few sessions with the water in the upper 30's. They got small holes between the fingers and near the drylock gasket towards the end of first winter of use, i gooped the holes and it looks like they will end up making through a second winter so I guess thats not bad.Originally Posted by NJSwell

xcel drylock gloves sucked up until i realized u just need to get a size bigger than u really need. i got an XL when i am normally a M/L.. theres a whole buncha extra room but water doesnt get inside and its real easy to get on and off
i've heard they're hard as hell to put on and take off haha, but what size would be best for me? their website doesnt have a chart. from tip of my middle finger to wrist is 7 inches
First of all, for the DRYLOCK gloves/boots, you roll the wrist cuff back. Then you roll it over when your hand is in.
Second, aside from being warmer, mittens or lobsters last alot longer and dont get tears in between fingers.
5 fingers feel fat and bulky and they fall apart FAST.
The bodyglove lobsters looked pretty good
I have xcell 7mm mittens on the 4th year with heavy use if that means anything.
only reason I don't really want to get the 7mm mittens is that I want more mobility in my hands. also, this will be late march/early april and onwards. i dont want to have mits in may and such
What do you need more mobility for??I want more mobility in my hands.
I'm not being a wiseguy, I'm genuinely curious. I've gotten to the point where I'm a minimalist with this stuff. I use my 7mil mittons until I can go bare handed. I do get swamp hands as the water warms up. but never felt the need for more mobility.
