I actually wasn't very fond of my Xcel gloves... the seams split on them pretty easy from what i've seen on mine and a friends.
However my Quicksilver lobster claws and they are sick
Like a sauna on your hands
dont get xcel drylocks man they will rip immediately
I dont know why everyone says that about the drylocks. If you put them on the right way they wont rip. I had oneills mitts they lasted 3 months unitl the index finger wore a whole in the tip and the seem leaked after the first month. Hyperflex 5 fingers leaked 10 mins into the first time I wore them . Quiksilvers dont seal good around the wrist and fill up with water.
I heard Rip Curl make a good glove but I never tired them to know if that true .
Best thing u can do I try a cpl brands of gloves on and see what fits u best
Fold the wrists down back over the glove it make the opening bigger then once you got your hand it fold it back down over your wrist. When you remove them get a finger inbetween your wrist and the glove to break the air tight seal and work them off the same way and you put them on .
Havent ripped mine yet and I am rough on stuff
I definatly wouldn't skimp on boots and gloves ... invested in the xcel 7mm dry lock mitt and boot and one of the best decisions I've made .. so warm durable and fairly easy to get on even if wet .. I can't surf when my hands and feet are numb like I had done in past years with ****ty equipment ..
i just picked up a pair of xcel 7mm mittens and i'm a little worried. the seal on one of the gloves in a couple areas seems weaker than the seal on the other glove. it's not as full around the seam and is not as thick, hopefully this glove wont come apart during my first session..
