I was an excessive wetsuit price researcher online a few years ago, and learned too much about wetsuits so i could find the cheapest wetsuits. Wetsuit wear houses inventory isn't impressive at all. They still have pictures of the model of some suits from 4 years ago (such as the psycho 2 picture), and they don't have all models of O'neil, no rip curl, no top of the line quiksilver, only billabong accessories and foil wetsuits, and so on. The best experience I've had buying a suit is at Jackssurfboads.com they have the most suits, best brands (even have aleeda for you older guys) and right not there is a killer sale. Beckersurf.com or k5.com ain't bad. But I will never buy from wetsuit wear house because of their collection and prices. I do hear they have excellent customer serious and shipping is fast though...
If you're going to go to a local shop to buy that's cool, just don't use them as a "dressing room" to try stuff on and then go order online that's just not cool. Those guys are going to help you with the thoughts of making a sale and you're going to walk out on them leaving them hanging. I buy locally and online and I do not use local shops to "try on" stuff. Wetsuit warehouse has a quick and easy exchange policy, if you get the wrong size suck it up and pay the return shipping. Twice now I've done return/exchanges and have had the new item shipped free.
Don't forget the local shop guys surf too and you might see them in the water one day.
If you going to do that at least spend some $$ there, and not just a bar of wax either!!!
thanks for all the info guys. i think im going to go to spellbinders soon to try on suits. if i find on that fits but i can order it from the wetsuit wearhouse for cheaper ill do that
not the best plan really. like people said dont use the shop as your dressing room. plus you never know what your gonna get online, might be last years suit and sized different. if you find something you like, and it fits, just buy it for the extra few bucks. spells has tons of suits right now.
