yep. Koki should read some John Stuart Mill. They don't know what they would do if they had a revolution, they're just anarchist. I think media and technology has sucked the moral foundation of many people in america that made it what it was. It will be back.

John S. Mill says on of my favorite quotes of all time.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Oh and Lee, that picture made me throw up in my mouth

I turned off the TV, more accurate information on this thread than channel surfing. You all are a very savvy political bunch ........ Kudos

I very close to Hill Staffers and K Street Lobbyist so the stories (crap/negotiations) that go on behind the scenes would make you vomit. The drama on TV is just the soap opera for TV as well as the American people.

You have to question who is managing the store at 1600 Pa. Ave NW when they had both Houses didn't pursue their 2012 budget!!. This is no surprise, any fortune teller could have predicted this shut down event as the Dems should have known when they lost the House in Nov they were not going to have the clout to pass their (agenda) budget. The House lost their southern blue dog /moderate Dems replaced by Repub's so most Dems left are all lefties. So how's that working for the White House? Not well, so American people have to pay the price, sad. What's worse, Congress still gets paid while those they rep don't and that is not the way it should be either.

Solution, support you local surf shop before Congress regulates it ...........

maybe I was bold by saying Revolution, but in no way am I a psuedo intellectual or an anarchist...I may not be a scholar, but I am a middle-class tax-payer who sees the sh*t that goes on in this country...go to work for any municipality and they'll pull you aside and tell you to slow down, don't work so hard, this is the county. meanwhile, they have the time to raise license fees and taxes...so essentially they are double f*cking you....our hard earned money is going to pay pentions to useless tools who did absolutely nothing but show up and earn a paycheck...that's one example on a state level...would you like me to elaborate more...there are thousands of examples of this type of fraud going on in our government...are you comfortable standing by and getting f*cked or would you actually like to be able to have a voice?

my brother is a marine and right now there is uncertainty as to whether or not their pay will be put on hold. i wonder what rep rush holt is having for dinner. caviar? salmon and wine?

and screw planned parenthood. maybe if they spent more federal money on improving schools (such as funding for sports and extracurricular activities) than handing out goody bags of condoms and birth control there would be less fuhk ups in need of planned parenthoods' "services"

btw this relates to surfing cuz of the national parks as was mentioned but also if you're lookin to do a surf trip anytime soon you might be forced to consider only US destinations as passport applications will not be processed

just put competent people who do not seek personal benefit (above & beyond their salary) in the position of power, it's that simple....that's the revolution I want to see...

yeah i kinda agree with this. from what i observed going to public high school, 80% of the teachers actually cared about their jobs and helping students succeed while the rest were lazy and were only teaching for the job security (not so much anymore). While i love my country of brazil, over there it is a socialist country so if anyone there gets a job with the government, they never have to sweat another day in their life. and if you think the dmv is bad try waiting weeks for documents to get processed and government offices to be closed at any excuse for a holiday.

yeah its pretty bad here in the US but it could be worse. get educated and vote

With this, I agree. That is what I was saying about the state and federal government being a mobb union. Job security... That is not the way a capitalist nation is supposed to run. Without a fair and competetive market in anything, we are losing tons of money. Every road that is fixed and everything is is costed out by the government, executed by the government and then paid out by tax payers based on what the government's budget states... PRIVITIZE some things so we can take competitive bids from everyone... I don't care if state workers pave my roads. If a private canadian company can come in and get it done twice as fast at half the cost, then we would all jump on that...

I agree with keeping jobs in the U.S. but don't screw us... I mean, I never understood unions as a kid. I knew tons of people back in MD that worked for G.M. and stuff, and for YEARS at a time, they would be "laid off"... Yet, they were getting paid 100% of their wages and not working. That money comes from everyone who purchases a new car. I mean, that just inflates auto pricing across the board... Look at Detroit. You can't keep dumping money into peoples pensions and stuff when you no longer profit... Especially when in Korea, they are banging out cars at $1500 bucks a pop, ready to sell. I doubt they are protected by unions...

This same idea should hold true for our government... These agencies should have to answer to the PEOPLE, cause we pay the bill... The government could auto-mate TONS of their jobs. From office secretaries, to installing more Ticket Cameras and doing things electronically... I mean, on the one hand, I don't want any american to lose a job... But if what you get paid to do, is a completely obselete task, then I'm sorry, they need to cut you from the payroll and you need to take your services to the private sector, where you can get more competitive wages and stay out of tax payers pockets....

About the only sector think deserves more money is teachers... But they can't be union either... If you underperform at the most important position in our infrastructure, you should be fired. Teaching should be WAAAAAAy more competitive... Maybe if they could somehow privitize that, we could be getting our children MUCh better education. Because college graduates that are fit to teach our kids would be offered competitive salaries... Rather than getting offered 27K a year to teach in inner-city baltimore...

Im not a ervolutionists, but if your campaign is about reform. And everyone wants "Change"... then reform some sh**! Change some sh**! Nobody wants anarchy, but im about fed up with uncle sam being in my pockets everytime i turn around...

and with all that being said, I guess i'm just a sheep. Im educated. I vote... But i dont question everything. I work 50 hours a week like the rest of you. Ive never taken a hand out from anyone. Ive never taken government assistance for ANYTHING. Meanwhile, as I get older, I just get a little more bitter, because I feel like the harder I work, and the more money I make, the more is taken from me. Im sorry Im not a single mom, that has 8 kids and can't support her family. Im a hard working american like the rest of you, and I think all of us who work an honest living feel a bit slighted year after year... But still, I pay my taxes. I pay my speeding tickets. I buy into the system... But i feel like I never get much back from it... Its always take take take take take.... Never, hey Zach, thanks for helping fuel our failed social seciurity system that you will never benefit from... Thanks for working that much harder, so we can get that much more money from you, and then do everything in our power not to give it back....

I mean, for the past 2 years, i got a fu**ing IOU from the CA government! I mean, IF YOU CAN'T PAY ME BACK WHAT YOU OWE ME, YOU SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO TAKE IT! Our roads are sh**. Cops dont ever help me... Ive never needed a lifeguard to bail me out... I mean, WTF ARE YOU PEOPLE DOING WITH OUR MONEY!????
