K-Board or SD-ll

I'm trying a few boards this summer to dial in what kind of boards I like and sizes that will work for me. I just picked up a K-Board 6'4". Not sure if it may be a little to agressive for me. I've been surfing 4.5 years and am to the point I can feel the difference in a board. I have also heard a lot about the Lost SD-ll. I have boards that work well in the small stuff. Looking for something that will work well in mid to bigger waves. I don't have to worry about huge waves. I'm not that good. Any info on either of these boards would be appreciated. Any recommendations would be good too. I've had fish but like the feel of the short board better. Looking for a good all arounder.

I had a K-Board when I lived in Huntington Beach, and it was great in head high or overhead punchy waves. My only problem with it was the narrow tail and aggressive rocker. Perfect if you are in the pocket deep, but not so good for anything that requires heavy paddling or has any flat sections.

I would definitely not recommend it for anything up here except for late fall. Even with the 6' 2" (I am 160 lbs), I would miss so many waves that decided not to dump right away. With a winter suit and the mush that makes up 90% of the waves in the northeast, I would stick to something with a flatter rocker and fuller tail like a JC SD or a dozen or so other merricks. Can't speak for the lost, but you wouldn't be able to muscle anything on the K-Board with a winter suit on.

Thanks. I went with the SD-ll. Used it a few times and think it was the better choice. That one gets better in the waist and above range so I think its a good fit for the quiver.

Was at the beach yesterday and a guy had one. He was catching a lot of waves with it. He said its short but paddles like a long board. He said it was awesome. Definatley something to look at.

I got a custom rusty made over the winter and its the best board I have.
Im a rusty customer for life now. check out the boards they offer on thier site. Then will customize any board they make to work with your ability/size and all that.
