Are Malibu surfers hostile towards bodyboaders?

I've been watching the surf on and off for a few months now but didn't see any bodyboarder venture into the main Malibu spots. Is there any reason for this? I live close to Malibu so proximity makes this area ideal. Or if you know any bodoyboard friendly spots in the are that would be great!

I just need to get a feel of things before I get back into bodyboarding again.

    Thanks!

    Red face yes

its a hostile place to surf, more i would imagine for SUPers and spongers alike... and i would highly recommend not sponging 1st point (or at all), you can walk up past 3rd point and go for all the closeout barrels you could ask for.

    joe,
I don't know if swimming and boogy boarding are even allowed at surf rider. imagine a 40 pound single fin longboard going 20 mph down the line running you over. I think the la co lifeguards posted a sign for no swimming, etc. westwards and zuma are your best bet. also, you're going to want to use swim fins- boogy board is optional, fins are essential.

Dude forget Malibu except for free Zuma. Everyone in southern Cali is reactive, sensitive, and out of touch with reality. Go down to your roots and spiritual home ; the Wedge.
