Yeah I was planning on heading down this weekend and a few days ago it looked good and now it's knee to thigh high. Even though the forecast is small, I have been checking the web cams every day (when the forecast is calling for small surf) and it has actually been bigger and cleaner than forecasted.

[QUOTE=Zippy;101084]I agree it was so much fun to make a guess, find you were right and score with only a few around. Surfing is becoming something people do like occasionally playing golf or going bowling. They wake up and say "knee to waist high, great! Today I am a surfer". Little to no dedication, no sacrifice and no appreciation for it. It's there to take and it's as much mine as anyone, so here I come with my bic in a boardbag and my signature safari hat. The internet is a great thing but **** make people work for it, even a little.[/QUOTE
Summer is for the hobbyists. They are the reason the surf industry has enough scale to make gear affordable for die hard surfers. The summer hobbyists are just as much a part of the surfing eco-system as you or I, in that they donate the all mighty dollar. Let them have their summer slop. Size and knowledge are natural kook filters. Come Labor Day, it's time to regulate. Don't let kooks get you down! Stay Above the Weather!!!
