Thanks for the positive words, Sponge. I am looking at it this way; I will be making positive progress when next I go out I get two feet further than the last time in the interim I am trying reading sets and breaks as I try to catch any profferings from the soup ;D.

hey gruvi, remember the arc of your surfing experience is personal...the rate at which you accelerate or stall in advancing is individual, so keep plugging away as best you can. ultimately, what some other creature thinks is irrelevant. the only person on that wave...or eating that sand..is you....

Surfing is hard; I'm not expecting anything but needing keeping at it to even master paddling before I get to the next step of riding. As to the fellow that helped me from the shop, I have no misunderstandings where I stand with him in regards to his "just being nice" because, just so long as he is nice is enough. If I build up friends here that will accept me as a friend, I'm sure that will happen over time. I've met a lot of very cool people while out at the beaches. I've even made some that I can say are my friend

And if anyone in CI for the week wants to stop at the "Inn", I will be here on the deck bar most evenings this week if you want to stop in, have a beer on my tab, and talk surfing and whatever.

That's awesome, Gruvi...that's the only way your going to get good at surfing, because after all if you can't get out to the wave it's kinda hard to surf the wave. Get it, gruv! Paddle..Paddle..
